PRE MOT CHECKS

---

A pre-MOT check (also known as a pre-inspection or pre-MOT test) is essentially a check-up for your vehicle before its official MOT test, which is required by law for cars over 3 years old in the UK. It’s a good way to catch any issues early and avoid potential failures during the actual MOT.

Here’s why it’s a smart idea:

Prevent Failures

•  The pre-MOT check identifies common issues that could cause your car to fail its MOT. Things like worn-out tires, faulty lights, or brake problems can be spotted and fixed in advance.

Save Time & Money

•  If your car fails the MOT, you’ll need to fix it and pay for a re-test. A pre-MOT check helps you catch these issues early, reducing the chances of a costly surprise.

Peace of Mind

• It gives you confidence that your car is roadworthy and ready for the official MOT, so you can avoid worrying about a failed inspection.

Improved Safety

•  Some parts of the vehicle tested in the MOT check are critical to your safety, like the brakes, lights, and suspension. Fixing issues early means you're less likely to be driving a car with serious safety problems.

Keep Your Insurance Valid:

•  Having a valid MOT certificate is often a requirement for your car insurance. If you fail your MOT, it can affect your insurance and even lead to penalties if caught driving without one.
